In this week of Ferris In Focus, we bring you different segments produced by our senior students. We start with an introduction of Belle’s CoffeeHouse here at Big Rapids, followed by College Kids Cars, and a Michigan College of Optometry segment, a program located here at Ferris State University. Fun and interesting shows like Ferris Asks, Memory Lane, Ferris Cineskits, Ferris Trolls, and Animals of the Arc are followed shortly. Big Rapids Life
This week’s episode began with a segment titled Big Rapids Life, where we follow the team to downtown Big Rapids where we visit a cafe called Belle’s Coffee House. This cute, homey cafe is filled with returning and new customers that enjoy it for the kind workers and warm ambience. The owner, Belle Whipple, also shares her story of how the cafe began.
College Kids Cars
Next, we join Quinn and Derek Ghormley on our College Kid Cars segment. Derek is the proud owner of a 2009 Dodge Avenger. Quinn and Derek take Derek’s current car, lovingly named Natasha, for a drive around campus while discussing Derek’s past cars.
Compared to most college kids, he seems to have racked up an impressive number of former cars.
Program Spotlight
On program spotlight this week, we check out the Michigan College of Optometry. Current students talk about what they love about the program, specifically discussing the small classroom size and the hands-on approach the college takes to learning. Without a doubt, students will leave with the knowledge and experience to take the first step in their careers.
Ferris Asks
Ferris Asks is up next, and this week’s burning question is: How do you manage seasonal depression? Our fellow students provide lots of insight into how you can help lighten the load of the winter blues, fit for all different lifestyles and people.
If you’ve been feeling down lately, this is certainly the segment to watch.
Memory Lane
On Memory Lane, Kyle Kossen talks about his favorite cartoon, Phineas and Ferb. The show was really crazy and encouraged kids to stretch their imaginations. The music was great and they had a new song every episode.
The sister was always trying to bust Phineas. And the other story line with Perry the platypus agent and Dr. Doofenshmirtz. This show really helped Kyle to not be doubtful of his ideas, stretch his imagination and be more creative in life.
Cineskits
On Cineskits, a GOAT chess player learns he may not know all the rules, and his opponent discovers he can create a new version of the same based on his uncle’s teachings.
Ferris Trolls
Adam and Ciara play rock paper scissors with unsuspecting passers-by in the David Eisler Center on Ferris’ campus.

Animals of the ARC
