Hockey
Host Brody Keiser sat down with Head Hockey Coach Bob Daniels to discuss the team’s recent bye week. The Bulldogs were able to take some well-deserved time away from the ice over Thanksgiving weekend, spending time with friends and family. The time off allowed some time to look back on the 2023 season.
Coach Daniels reflected on the team’s season so far, and discussed ways the team plans to improve on the ice. Moving forward, Coach Daniels believes discipline will be a determining factor in Bulldog success on the ice. Despite being down in the standing, Coach Daniels feels confident the Bulldogs will be able to rise through the ranks in the weeks to come. This weekend, the Bulldogs will be playing St. Thomas here at home. Be sure to stay updated with all things Ferris Hockey by checking out Bulldogs Athletics!
Women’s Basketball
Following hockey, Host Brody Keiser talked women’s basketball with Ferris State Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kurt Westendorp. The two discussed the great start to the season for the Lady Bulldogs, who remain undefeated after three straight wins.
The most recent 89-59 victory over Northwood saw leading scorers Chloe Idoni dropping 15 points, and Mallory McCartney dropping an impressive 34 points with 8 3-pointers. A well-deserved congratulations is in order because that guard was balling out there. The team is set to face Spring Arbor at home tonight. Let’s show some support by coming out and cheering the teams on to a successful game and hopefully the continuation of an undefeated season.
Women’s Volleyball
Wrapping things up, Brody sat down with Ferris State Volleyball Head Coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm. Brody congratulated Coach Brandel-Wilhelm’s team on making it to the NCAA Tournament in Allendale Michigan. The two discussed the Bulldog’s Victory against Grand Valley, and reflected on how rewarding that victory was. Coach Brandel-Wilhelm recalled how the team grew together over the season, and learned how to overcome challenges together.
Looking forward, the Bulldogs will face off against Hillsdale in the Midwest Regional Quarterfinals. Coach Brandel-Wilhelm expects Hillsdale to be a challenging opponent on the court. With 10 years of experience at Ferris, Coach Brandel-Wilhelm reflected on her experiences with Bulldogs Volleyball and her intimate relationship with the game. The Regional Quarterfinals will be hosted in St. Louis, Missouri on November 30th at 3:30 EST.
