On this week’s episode of Ferris Sports Update, host Rob Bentley talks with senior defensive end, Olalere Oladipo about the current state of the season.

After being on the road for the previous two weekends, Oladipo talks about how helpful it was to have a bye week this week. He mentions how after away games, it can be difficult for the guys to find time to celebrate their win, and bye week gives them the time to do just that, while also mentally preparing for the games ahead.

Oladipo has been with Ferris Sports since early 2020 and recalls what it was like to play on the team in the past and win two national championships. He mentions that comradery that is still shared between him and his past teammates, and how it is a brotherhood that will last for life.

Having been awarded by the Academic All-American program in 2022, Oladipo also talks about how much that award meant to him and his family. He mentions his family’s high importance of education, and how football can be taken away from you, but no one can ever take away your degree. Finding a good balance between education and athletics is essential.

He also notes that while Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech played well, the team’s focus will be internal. Henson says that the team’s fight is there and that they have a great no-quit attitude amongst them. They just need to focus on bringing it all together going forward.
